Live country music and entertainment, prize giveaways, an old-fashioned barbecue and live and silent auctions are planned for the third annual Barn Party to benefit the Simi Valley Family YMCA.
The event, from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 9, will be at Strathearn Historical Park. Festivities will revolve around the historic Wood Ranch barn.
This popular community event has become the YMCA's lead fundraiser for programs that serve the community and provide for those in need of various services.
The evening's auctions will feature several unique items and the auctioneering talents of Todd Ventura. The Y is still seeking donations for the silent and live auctions and for table and banner sponsors.
The YMCA Barn Party is an all-volunteer event, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to YMCA community programs that benefit families, seniors, children and teens.
Tickets are $40 per person and are available at the Simi Valley YMCA, 3200 Cochran St. Those planning to join the fun must be 21.
