The sophomore class of Simi Valley High School is hosting a car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19 in the school's east parking lot at 5400 E. Cochran St.

The show will raise money for class activities.

Vehicles will be placed in one of seven classes ranging from pre1940 through 1970, and also trucks and imports.

The entry fee is $25 per car the day of the show and registration opens at 8 a.m.

Trophies will be awarded in each class.

Attendance at the car show is open to the public and free, although donations will be accepted. At the event, food, chips, and drinks will be available for purchase.

The 18th annual Cajun Creole Music Festival, one of the largest Cajun festivals in the nation, will be held this weekend in Simi Valley. Hosted by Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise, the two-day music festival has also evolved into one of the largest charitable fundraisers in the Ventura County area, organizers said. The mission of the event is to raise money for people and organizations in need. Over the course of its history, the Cajun Creole Music Festival has enabled Simi Sunrise to distribute proceeds in excess of $1.2 million to charitable organizations and community groups in Simi Valley, Ventura County and nationwide, organizers said.

Gator Run 5K/10K Run/Walk

Registration for the 2007 Inaugural Gator Run is filling up fast! Hurry to be one of the first to register and you will receive a commemorative pin. Entry fees include bib number, t-shirt, one FREE ticket to the Cajun Creole Music Festival, doorprizes and refreshments.

Great Route
The Gator Run will begin at the west entrance to the Rancho Santa Susana Community Park and head east on Los Angeles Ave. to Stearns St. Left turn on Stearns to Cochran, travel west on Cochran to Tapo St. Left on Tapo St. to Industrial, travel east to the end of Industrial where it meets the bike path. Runners will make a short loop on the bike path and head back to Los Angeles Ave., left on L.A. Ave and back to the start/finish. 5K is one loop, two loops for the 10K.

Valley Mustang Club will host its Fifth Annual Mustang car show Sunday June 3 2007.

There will be Trophies, Entertainment, Raffles, Vendors and BBQ Food.

This show is on grass and is located at Rancho Simi Community Park 1692 Sycamore Drive.

Each car entry fee is $30.00; Day of show fee is 40.00. This is a great show, loads of fun and beautiful car and trucks.

The Simi Valley Historical Society is hosting an old-fashioned family "Sundae in the Park" 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3 at Strathearn Historical Park and Museum, 137 Strathearn Place, Simi Valley.

Guests can take self-paced tours because docents are stationary in all the museum buildings, including the fully-restored Old St. Rose of Lima Church and gardens. Other historic structures can be seen as they await renovation; such as the first barber shop in Simi Valley.

The Knights of Columbus, Simi Valley Council No. 5803 will present the 20th annual Chili Cook-off and Car Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at St. Rose of Lima School, behind the church at 1305 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12, seniors and disabled. Chili taste tickets are 50 cents each.

Overflow parking will be allowed at Royal High School across the street from the church.

Chili cooking will start at noon; judging will be at 4 p.m.
