The Conejo Valley Arabian Horse Association will host the 2008 Summer Kickoff All Breed Show starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 8 at Gateway Simi Equestrian Park, 3495 Chicory Leaf Place, Simi Valley.

Categories are available in English and Western for age groups 13 and under, 14 to 17, and 18 and over. Appropriate show clothing is required in all classes.

Walk/Trots are open to new riders, adults and children.

Ribbons will be given to first through fifth places, along with nine dayend awards in the categories.

CROP Hunger Walk Simi Valley 5K CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk, Simi Valley United Methodist Church, 2394 Erringer Road. Registration begins 12:30 p.m. Walk starts 1:30 p.m. Water stations, postwalk refreshments provided. Portion of donations go to Samaritan Center of Simi Valley, Care and Share. The Chicago Tribute Authority Band, a Tribute to Chicago:
Bring your family for a free concert and don't forget the picnic basket and blanket or chairs. This is a fantastic location, Oak Park Community Park is complete with waterfalls, a pond and the beautiful backdrop for the stage is open-space canyon hills. So come and enjoy the warm summers evenings with family and friends.
