A 5-year-old girl bitten by a pit bull at a Simi Valley home last week has died, authorities said Monday. The attack occurred about 8:45 p.m. Sept. 23 in a home in the 1000 block of Appleton Road, said Lt. Paul Fitzpatrick of the Simi Valley Police Department, which did not report the incident to the media until asked about it Monday.
