With an already battered city budget, Simi Valley’s coffers are taking another hit — declining sales tax revenue. Second quarter sales taxes were down 15.6 percent from the same period a year ago. If the trend continues, the city could face an unanticipated shortfall of $2.3 million in it’s projected $13.7 million sales tax revenue budget.
