It was one of several duties Martin was given last week at the Reagan Library and Museum in Simi Valley. He was one of about 100 volunteers from various organizations throughout Ventura County who were on hand to decorate 30 trees, part of the library's annual "Christmas Around the World" exhibit.
Simi police benefits, pay to rise 7 percent
Simi Valley police officers are receiving a 7.05 percent raise in total compensation, including salary and benefits, city officials said Tuesday. Although faced with an already constricted budget, the city anticipated most of the cost — $1.35 million — based on terms of a contract signed in 2005.
